1. Check the Official Guidelines

Every agency may have different requirements for video length, format, orientation, music, and editing.

Always read the official audition guidelines first. Even a well-filmed video may not be accepted if it does not follow the submission rules.

2. Keep Your Full Body in the Frame

Judges should be able to see your entire body throughout the performance.

Make sure the frame includes:

• Your head and raised hands
• Your feet and footwork
• Enough space on both sides
• Your widest movements

Place the camera directly in front of you at approximately waist-to-chest height. Avoid low, high, or diagonal angles that can distort your movements.

Use a tripod or stable surface instead of having someone hold the camera.

3. Choose a Bright, Simple Background

Film in a clean space without furniture, other people, or distracting objects.

Light should come from in front of you—not from a window or bright source behind you. Your face, body lines, and movements should remain clearly visible.

Avoid filming in front of mirrors if reflections make the video distracting.

4. Wear Clothes That Show Your Movement

Choose comfortable clothes that allow judges to see your body lines clearly.

Avoid oversized clothing, large patterns, heavy accessories, or outfits that blend into the background. Simple training clothes in a contrasting color are usually the safest choice.

Your outfit does not need to look like a stage costume. The focus should remain on your dancing.

5. Keep the Video Simple

A K-POP audition video is different from a dance cover or music video.

Unless the guidelines allow otherwise, avoid:

• Filters and beauty effects
• Multiple camera angles
• Cuts and transitions
• Slow motion
• Excessive color correction

Film the choreography in one continuous take and make sure the music is clear without sounding distorted.

Before submitting, check that your full body stays visible, the camera remains stable, and your timing and expressions are clear.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Standing too close to the camera
• Cutting off your hands or feet
• Filming in a dark or crowded room
• Wearing clothes that hide your movements
• Using distracting filters or edits
• Ignoring the agency’s submission requirements

The goal is not to make your audition video look expensive. It is to make your skills easy to evaluate.
